Annual Alpine Slide 2011

A tradition in our family is that every year for Alis birthday we take her to ride the Alpine Slide in Park City. This year Fro had to work on her birthday so we took her the week after. We love going up to park City, it is so fun and it feels like your on a mini vacation.
We went up to buy the tickets and Ali walked up as the girl asked if she was one of our riders. We told her she was and the lady said,"She is to tall to ride with someone she has to ride the Alpine slide by herself." Ali got all nervous and didn't want to do it. We kept telling her it would be fun and she wouldn't have to go that fast, but she was so scared. The whole lift ride up she was quiet and didn't want to do it.
As we got to the top we kept trying to convince her that she would be fine and practiced the stopping with her.
After one run she was convinced that it was SOOOOOOO fun and she wanted to do it again and again. So we did the Alpine coaster which was so fun, then headed back to the slide so Ali could do it again and again!! It was a great day!!

Ali is EIGHT!!

Ali turned 8 and we celebrated "Hawaiian Style!"
She woke up to delicious donuts and we spent the day doing what she wanted. Her plan for her birthday included, Shopping with me, getting her nails done, and buying a toy with her $3 gift card that toys r us sent her. ($35 dollars later I realize they are genius!)
Then we headed home to get ready for our LUAU!!

The party was a lot of fun and thanks to my brother in law Steve for making our annual video possible it was a great success. Ali did the limbo, and we played and laughed and ate and almost forgot to give her the main gift--- a NEW BIKE!! She was very excited and we loved all the Hawaiian costumes.

Being Creative with Food!

I am always looking for fun things to do with my kids especially in the summer. I came across something kind of similar to this art project, but I tweeked it. I got all kinds of food items and had the kids be creative and make a picture with their food. We had skittles, licorice, pretzels, marshmellows, noodles, chocolate chips, and a lot more. Then we used a lot of hot glue and glitter and Ta-Da- masterpieces!! It was fun and fun letting the kids eat and be creative!!

Summer Camping 2011

I love camping, but I have come to realize that with kids one, two days tops is just right for me!! We have not taken ali since she was little, and it was Cams first camp out. Ali was a little hesitant because she REALLY does not like bugs, and Cam was so excited as usuall. Fro had to work till late friday so he didn't get there till about 9, and was a trooper because he had to leave again by 6 in the morning. His camping was short lived, but he came for the support. We had a good time sitting around the fire. Celebrating REed and Jamisons birthday with a pinata. We ate homemade smores on a stick my neighbor taught me to make (they were good and not messy!) and we played in the tents all night. It was fun to have no agenda and no where to be but with family. Ali had moments when she wanted to go home, but then loved every minute of it.
We went on a little hike in the morning and the kids loved hiking. The water was so high we were nervous the whole time with all the little kids, but it was not a problem and we were very grateful. Ali is already planning the next campout!!

Dress Ups are never dull

One of Alis continued favorite things to do is Dress up with her cousins. They love going through all my clothes and pretending to be different people. I love seeing their creativity kick in.

Ali went from being all dolled up to being her "biker dad!" It was hilarious. Last year she dressed up in his work outfit, but this was just as good when she came out saying, "hey dude, whats up?' She of course had us all laughing as biker dad.

Cutest Dad

I have come to realize that I don't blog about my cute husband nearly enough. I constantly have plenty to say about my kids because they change constantly, but i have failed miserably to write about my husband and what a GREAT dad he is. The other day I was busy doing things in the house when I realized it was awfully quiet. I looked around for Cam, and Ali and couldn't find them. I started looking everywhere when I came across this adorable picture.

He had taken them outside and was sitting under the tramp talking with them and enjoying the day. He spends so much time with our kids it amazes me. He works a ton, but it is amazing how any second he can squeeze in with our kids he does. He is a great dad and does anything and everything for them, and teaches them new things constantly. Ali is always telling me something about a car, or bike or the way something works and I know her dad has been teaching her.

He wants them to do and be so many great things, and I love how he tells them, and points out all the many things he didn't have as a kid, so they learn to appreciate things. He makes them work for things, and spoils them all at the same time. He always shows so much amazement at things they do, and he is so good to stop anything he is doing to give them attention. He has so much love for them I love seeing it in his smile. I love you fro and you are an amazing dad!!

Catching Up with Cam

Cam is in this phase of biking when he wants to do everything that he sees his dad do. So when he watched fro do a wheelie he wanted to really bad also. So his version of a wheelie is lifting the front end of his bike up and saying "look a 4 wheeler!" It is so dang cute. This particular day he was wearing his dads gloves and PINK socks! gotta love him.

Cam loves skateboards, motorcycles and pretty much anything with wheels. He has really been into skateboards and keeps saying he is going to have a skateboard birthday party. Uncle Mike has had this mini skateboard for a long time and gave it to Cam. It made his whole day and he would not part with it-- Even to sleep. He had to sleep with his cool skateboard!!

Another of Cams favorites right now is the movie TRON. He LOVES it. After renting it from REdbox over 4 times we decided to buy it. He loves Sam Flynn and has now started calling him self Sam Flynn. He pretends the frisbee is a disc and holds it to his back and then throws it like in the movie. He has named us all from the movie: Fro is Tron who "fights for the USERS!", Ali is Cora but cam calls her CORLA, I am -"the white girl who zaps off Sam Flynns clothes- Jem" he just yells hey white girl. It is HILARIOUS watching him.

Cam is always making funny faces, doing funny things, and sneaking out the back door to ring the "DING BELL" in the front to suprise us. He hates for us to see him when he wakes up from a nap before he has suprised us, and he loves ME!! He tells me all the time "MOM I JUST LOVE YOU!" like he is right now while sitting on my lap~~ love my Cam a BAM~

Little Sayings

July 2011- Ali was talking in the car today and she was trying to think of the oldest person in the whole world. Then she got excited and said, " Oh Heavenly Father has to be the oldest person EVER!!" I am pretty sure she is so smart!!
mar. 2011- I was singing and cam said, "Don't sing!" and I said Why? and his response "because YOU can't sing!!"
Dec. 2010- Ali came up to me with her hedgehog stuffed animal she picked out and said, "mom, I am naming her Tiddles! or Tiddies!", and I was laughing! I Love Ali--I think she has arrived at the age where i need to make sure to explain that!!
Oct. 10- I was putting Cams diaper on him and it has a mickey mouse on it, as i put it on him he looked down and said, "Mom Mickey is on my weiner!!" I was so caught off guard all I could do was laugh!!
August '10-Ali has been affraid of bees since Cam has had his second sting in 2 weeks so she said,"Mom since there are flowers on my swimsuit, the bees are attracted to me!"
June '10 Ali needed me really bad but I was going to the bathroom, and told her she would have to wait. Then she came in and whispered in my ear " it helps it to come faster if you smile mom". I was laughing so hard and pictureing Ali going the bathroom and smiling really big!!
april '10 - Ali came home from school today and announced "wedgies are fun" I looked at her and she had given herself one BIG wedgie!! In questioning her about this, she said a girl at her school gives them to herself all the time!
Feb. 10- today we were driving to family dinner and passed the temple. Ali noticed there was only one car in the whole parking log. Fro said, that must be Jesus' car. Ali said, Jesus drives a TOYOTA! and then said that satan must drive a FORD! We are such a toyota family!
Jan. 10- one thing that Ali does that I had to write down is she calls the operator on the phone "The Mermaid" and anytime Cam gets on the phone she says- "Hurry Mom it is the Mermaid"
Jan 10- Ali was asking me what Martin Luther King Day was so I was explaining it to her. I told her how black people were slaves and treated very badly. Later that night she was saying the prayer and said," Please bless all the Black , or Brown people." We were laughing pretty hard.
Dec. 09- Ali asked me to make her something and I didn't do it Just the way she wanted it. So she said, "Mom you didn't do it right, but don't worry you tried your best!"
August 5- Ali can't say spaghetti, she says SKABETTY. She kept trying and trying and finally she said, "I can't say skabetty,but i can say NOODLES! " it was so cute
July 14- We were trying to explain something to ali and she said, "Wait, I am all Fused Up!!' Meaning, I am all confused, she just mixed up how she said it and it was so cute!
June 29- Ali loves to tell me how much she loves me, and she usually says it in a funny way like"Mom Your the greatest mom I have ever had!" but last night she switched it up and said "Mom do you know I love you more than a grandma in a pink skirt with pink shoes!" I said really, and she said, Yeah seriously!!
June- Ali told me she wished she had a cast like Cams. I told her no she didn't. and she said,"Yes I do, then I can hit him back!!"
May 12, On mothers day I got breakfast in bed, and Ali came in to hug me and said, "Mom do you know who I love the most?" I waited and she said "Cam, he is my favorite." Happy mothers day to me!!
April 9, Ali had to go the bathroom and I was sitting in the other room and she kept saying, "Don't listen to my poop drop okay mom" and then DROP and she would say, You didn't hear that did you? then again and again, it was so funny!
April 4- Ali is trying hard to sound out things and was sounding out BAP, she said,"Mom do you know what that is?" I said, No, and she said, "it is a mountain region in China!!!" I laughed and she said, "IT IS!!!"
Feb. 4- Ali didn't want to go to school, and I threatened her with the doctors office. After much frustration she said, "Well mom I had a dream last night that I didn't have to go to school, and we just played and had the funnest day ever!" I reminded her that now she is awake,and going to school. But she is pretty convincing!
Jan. 09- Ali always makes plans of what she wants to do for the day, and lately she says "Mom I had a thought come to my mind." It is so funny !
Jan. 09- Ali has continually kept praying that we won't have any earthquakes. It is hilarious that every prayer now mentions not family or food, but earthquakes.
Dec. 17- Ali said, "Mom do you know why I like to wake you up in the middle of the night?" and I said, "NO" and she said, "because you are just the greatest mom, I love to see you all the time, even during the night!" Does that make my lack of sleep any better-- Yes!
Dec. 4- Ali was watching something on the tv and said," Mom why do the people on the TV always look right at me?"
Nov. 29- Ali was playing polly pockets and there were 3 MEAN girls, just like at her school. She kept saying to the other pollys "We are more POPILAR than you." It was hilarious because she said POPILAR totally cute, and 20 times. It made me wonder what is going on at school though! She is five, and she shouldn't know what being popular is!
Ali just saw the picture of herself on the toilet and said, "Is that me sitting on the toilet, On your blog!!!!!"
Nov. 28 - Ali likes to see what I "Blog" about, and she really likes when I read things about her back to her- so today she said something funny and she said." You gonna blog that mom?" It was so funny!
Nov. 28- Ali always grinds her teeth when she is going to hit something hard. Well lately she has been playing a little rougher with Cam than I would like, and she always replies," I wasn't even grinding my teeth mom!"
Nov. 18- Ali was telling us what she wanted for Christmas-yet again, and she told us she wanted a baby- not just any baby, but one in her belly!! Yikes
Nov. 17 I was asking Ali what she wanted to do after school, when she said," Mom YOU ARE NOT LISTENING- I already told you!!!!!!! that could have been possible- She told me to start listening better like she does at school!
Ali woke up with a big snuggie, and I pointed it out to her , and she said, "Mom that guy has been up there all night!"
Ali didn't want to go to school and said," Mom feel me I am getting all Heated UP!"
